The purpose of Life Groups is three-fold. First, it is to help facilitate community living among believers. We are not meant to live the Christian life alone. (Galatians 6:2, 1 Thessalonians 5:11) Life Groups afford us the opportunity to “do life” together, encourage one another, share burdens, victories and struggles with each other and grow together in Christ. Second, it is to reach the unsaved. There are unbelievers who will go to a friend’s house to eat or meet new people, who will not enter a church building. Life Groups should be a vessel to reach these and lead them to Christ through friendship and opening God’s Word in an inviting and intimate setting. Third, Life Groups offer a wonderful variety of ways for believers to serve one another, whether by using their gift of hospitality, gift of teaching, gift of intercession, gift of giving, or any of our spiritual gifts. Life Groups adopt service projects also, like reaching out to the poor, visiting the sick or homebound, and blessing families during the holidays.
Currently, we have 8 life groups, totaling about 60 people who meet each week in a home or in a room at the church. They typically run for at least one year, with new ones starting next in January of 2017. If you are interested in becoming a part of a group or have questions, please contact the church office or Brent Williams.
